Out with the old…
I actually started this post a few weeks ago. In the original entry, I expressed great excitement for the new year, for the monumental progression that was about to take place, the kind that only grown-ups can be really thrilled about. But Life’s latest curveball caught me off guard, and well, things have changed.
Not too long ago, the husband and I finally found an apartment to park our shoes and happily rest from our normally nomadic existence. No more moving, no more semi-living out of cardboard boxes, finally being able to call a place home for more than three years. And the kitchen…the prospect of having a gas stovetop again with a thermal convection oven at my fingertips, to actually see blue flames curling around the edges of a pan again…oh yes, I was excited, like a little kid in a candy store, planning out meals and dinner parties for the years to come.
But none of that stuff seems to matter anymore. At least not right now. Quite frankly, I just don’t feel like cooking. I know I’ll get there again eventually. But not today.
…Home, sweet home. With the love and support of good friends and the most amazing husband ever, it will be, in time.

Beautiful stove!
Whatever it is that’s keeping you down, I hope everything turns out fine… good luck.
wow what a beautiful stove!!
it is a lovely stove… I hope your cooking spirits are lifted soon.
Thanks, everyone. Happy belated New Year’s to all!
I think when you lose someone close to you, you start seeing life from a whole new prospective. You need time to heal emotionally, and when you have you’ll be cooking up a frenzy I’m sure.
BTW, funny but I’ve lived in my apartment over a year and haven’t used my stove even once. It’s electric, and I do prefer gas as well. But I’m really strictly a microwave chef.
Happy New Year, Connie!
I GASPED when I scrolled down and saw the stove! My stove is satisfyingly dangerously flamey but nowhere near that fabulous!
this looks gorgeous! **drooling**
